Introduction

A thread ring gauge is a measuring tool used to measure the outside diameter of pins, shafts, splines, fasteners, dowels, bolts, and other machined cylindrical parts. These gauges are usually cylindrical in shape and made of a strong material (usually tool steel) with a high precision (very high tolerance) hole in the center that acts as a gauge for the outer diameter of the part.
