We understand that accuracy is key when it comes to any thread measuring application. Our BSPT Taper Thread Gauges are manufactured to the highest standards, ensuring accuracy and durability.
Our gauges are made with carbide tips and a hardened steel body, making them highly resistant to wear and tear. Our precision ground carbide tips ensure that they are accurate and reliable, making they perfect for any application.
Description:
British Standard Pipe (BSP) is an internationally adopted set of technical standards for threads that combine male (male) and female (female) threads to join and seal pipes and fittings. It has been adopted as a standard for plumbing fixtures and fittings, except in North America where NPT and related threads are used.
Types
Parallel (straight) thread, British Standard Pipe Parallel Thread and British Standard Pipe Machine Thread/BSPM), with constant diameter. Represented by the letter G.
Tapered Thread, British Standard Pipe Tapered thread that increases or decreases in diameter over the length of the thread.
Features
Symmetrical V-thread with 55° angle between sides (measured in axial plane).
One-sixth of this sharp V is cropped at the top and bottom.
Threads are evenly rounded at the apex and root with arcs that end tangent to the sides.
Applications
Piping industry
Valve industry
Hydraulic seal
Aircrafts
Parts
BSPT threads- These are used when pressure tolerance is achieved by combining two threads. International standards require all female threads to be parallel and the male threads to be tapered. The internal thread can also be conical, but this is uncommon.
Number of Threads- TPI stands for Threads Per Inch. This means the total number of threads per inch measured along the length of the fastener.
Thread pitch- It is the distance between threads, expressed in millimeters. Smaller fasteners generally have finer threads, which means smaller thread pitch.
